you wont believe this but my problem turned out to be the TIMING BELT squeeking. I was floored as I stumbled upon the problem's solution. I was pulling up to a stop and my car died and the engine light came on and when i tried to start it, it turned over way to fast and sounded funny. I immediately suspected the timing belt as I knew it was way overdue to be changed.
How it would squeak is beyond me. The belt didn't break completely. On the inside a section of rubber containg the threads on the inside of the belt, had rotted with age and about a 3 or 4 inch piece broke loose from the belt, but the backbone of the belt was still intact. after getting it repaired I noticed the belts I thought were causing the squeaking were immediately and completly silenced. I mean not one more squeak. first i didnt realize belts broke in that fashion and i still dont see how it was squeaking, I just know it stopped and I'm thankful. thanks a lot Girard
