I own a 1995 Saturn SL2 (which may not be important) and was wondering if anyone has an idea of how much it would cost to just replace every (or most) of the hoses in the engine. I know that the main hose that goes into the engine (air intake?) needs to be replaced, but if it wasn't that much more, I might as well get the rest, like for the radiator, etc. I know the actual hoses itself are cheap as hell and can get them from AutoZone for a buck or so, but I don't wanna mess around and try and do it myself. Thanks.

Best thing to do would be to go to AutoZone and ask them. Don't just call. There are alot of hoses and it may take awhile.

Yeah, I realized after I called up a place about it that different hoses will have different prices since they apply to different things, etc. But I guess a second question would be, is it correct that the engine has to be depressurized before changing any hoses? Is that done by a machine or can the car just have been sitting for a while? Thanks.

It all depends on what system you are replacing hoses on. Some spray, some leak, some drip, some do nothing but have vacuum when engine is running.

My suggestion is to have hoses inspected and replace if questionable. Mainly replace coolant carrying hoses; heater and radiator. These hoses detriorate from the inside and get weak in the outer bends of corners.
