92 DODGE VAN EXESS GAS IN CARB

I have a 92 dodge 250 318 engine that seem to be putting way to much gas in carb.new cap plugs ignition fine.ox sensor looks new .The only recent change I can think of is running through some high water. And I also added 2 oz of lucas oil.It is running so rich that the catylitic converter gets extremely hot. Black smoke from the exhaust and heavy particles fly out when you rev the motor.I looked under the van about a week previous and looked like a very new complete exhaust. No code checks have been done, and no check engine lights have come on. Open to any suggestions Thanks.

The float in the carb may be bad.

Thanks. I had the same idea but wasn't sure. Do you know what kind of carbs they put on these vans. Its a 318 2 barrel .It doesn't look like it would be to hard to tear down.
